The Tamang Heritage Trail hike also supports the local community by delivering long-term economic advantages.
The Tamang Heritage Trail Trek is located north of Kathmandu Valley and is one of Nepal’s most accessible trekking areas. Some of the most breathtaking scenery may be seen here. The walk takes you through lush woodlands and terraced verdant farms. From a close vantage point, you’ll be able to glimpse the Langtang peaks and Himalayan border. Aside from that, trekking through Tamang villages is an added benefit to the natural elements. As a result, many visitors prefer to combine the hike with a visit to the Langtang Valley. Trekking to the Tamang Heritage Trail also helps the Tamang people in this region earn a living.
According to many sources, the Tamang people originated as horse dealers in Tibet. They eventually settled in Nepal’s highland regions. Their biggest communities are often located around the Kathmandu Valley. Several hundred years ago, there was a migration. They have kept their Tibetan heritage and language, as well as their distinct identity. They were, unfortunately, among the most severely hit communities during the 2015 mega-earthquake. Their residences tended to be in vulnerable regions shut off from support during the dark hours. As a result, the Tamang Heritage Trail is the ideal method to learn about the Tamang community’s distinct culture, customs, lifestyles, and people.
The first day will be spent driving from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi. The Tamang Heritage Trail begins at Syabrubensi and ends in Syabrubensi. In the mornings, a local bus service departs from Balaju Bus Park in Kathmandu on a regular basis. Hiring a Jeep for simple travel, on the other hand, is a wonderful choice for comfort and timeliness. A local bus takes 7-8 hours to get to the place, but a Jeep gets there faster. The gorgeous Pasang Lhamu Highway will provide a fascinating ride. The motorway connects Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, with Timure, Tibet.
The ideal months to visit are September through mid-December, and March through the first week of June. Because of the open skies and the end of the monsoon season, autumn is the ideal season. During the season, the location is lush with foliage and offers far vistas. Spring, on the other hand, brings fresh leaves, blossoming rhododendron woods, and snowy summits.
The weather is generally cool but doesn’t’ have to expect cold except some days during winter. If there is rainfall during the winter we have to expect snowfall in the region. Otherwise, the temperature is tolerable moderate. Carrying a rain sheet will be a precautionary idea to keep yourself safe from unexpected rainfall during September and Spring seasons. You should carry warm clothes, hiking boots, sunglasses, walking sticks, gloves, raincoats, medicines, reusable water bottles, and light snacks.
