Dhorpatan Hunting Trek is one of the top most best selling trip of Himalayan Hospitality Treks and Tour which is less crowded and off the beaten path trail of Dhaulagiri region compared to other route. It is attractive destination which is  controlled hunting allowed area with proper license and certain seasons in the year. Hunting permit and license is issued by the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation in Kathmandu.

This trek offers an opportunity to experience the beautiful areas of Dhorpatan which is not affected by western influences like other route. Hunting reserve touches the districts like East Rukum, Myagdi and Baglung districts in Dhaulagiri range in Western Nepal which is established in 1983 that covers 1325 sq. km.

Dhorpatan reserve is the only one spot in Nepal where licensed hunting is permitted by Nepal Government which is  characterizing by alpine, sub-alpine and high temperate vegetation. Common plant species include fir, pine, birch, rhododendron, hemlock, oak, juniper and spruce.

Nepal Government has divided this area into six blocks for hunting management purposes, its elevation ranges from 2,850 m to more than 7,000 m. It provides excellent mountain views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range. Dhorpatan is the prime habitats of blue sheep, other species like Ghoral, Himalayan Thar, Black Bear Pheasant and Partridge.

If someone interested for wild life hunting, we organize hunting package it takes another 4-5 days extra. For Dhorpatan trek it is not necessary any hiking and trekking experience, normal walking experience is enough for exploring Dhorpatan trek.
