Spring (March-May) and Autumn (October-November) are the best seasons to do Everest Three Passes Trek. As the monsoon season (June – early September) brings most of the rainfall in Nepal including the Everest region, we can hardly predict its weather during these months. Some trekkers still choose the monsoon to align with their vacation schedule. Relatively the winter season (December – February) is colder. A little rainfall in the lower part results in snowfall in and around the Everest Three Passes trail. It might result in the blockage of trails. Also, it is a bit harder since the temperature falls below -30 to -40 degrees celsius in the base camp areas. The good thing about the weather is that the skies are often clearer during the time.
The Everest Region has excellent infrastructure for trekkers. The teahouses (lodges) are of relatively high quality and they serve good meals. Especially Namche Bazar has high standard lodges and accommodation facilities. The general food menu is similar throughout the trial. However, the prices become more expensive as you ascend high. Guides and Porters prefer taking Dal Bhat almost two times every day. The places like Lukla, Namche Bazaar, Khumjung, Denboche have bakery-cafes. Every teahouse serves western foods like Rice, Bread, Pizza, Pasta, Noodles, etc. Apart from the regular food menu, you can enjoy eating local delicious foods like Nepali bread, Momo, Thendup, and more.
Generally, it’s best to complete the Three Passes trek counter-clockwise. It is possible to go clockwise, as well, but not recommended due to the steep altitude gain of crossing the Renjo La, first. From Gokyo, you can also add an extra day to visit the remote Gokyo Lakes farther up the glacial valley.
The Everest Three High Passes trek cost with a standard package includes standard norms, terms, and standard services. Generally, the trip cost depends on the service and comfort you choose. Your spending habits affect your tour budget. Since the tour includes the grandest walk in a high-altitude trail, the menu price rises with the gain in height. However, we request you to make a quick inquiry for additional group discounts and trip customization.
Everest Three High Passes trek is a challenging lodge trek. There is always an option for camping trek as your choice.
