    DAY 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

    The 9 Days Nepal Bhutan tours begins with your first step in Nepal. Our representative will receive you with a warm greeting at the airport and transfer you to the hotel in Thamel. It is your time to relax after a long and hectic flight. Oriental Journeys offers you a Neapali dinner in a traditional Nepali restaurant in the evening.

    DAY 02: Kathmandu sightseeing

    Today you will enjoy a guided tour of historical and spiritual attractions of Kathmandu that includes historic Durbar Square, the famous Swayambhunath (Monkey temple), Pashupatinath and world’s second largest stupa of Boudhanath. After the trip, you need to give a final touchup to your Bhutan tour preparation.

    DAY 03: Fly Kathmandu-Paro

    Flight from Kathmandu to Paro (2,135m/7,000 ft) is a fascinating journey that lets you enjoy the views of the eastern Himalayan range of Nepal including the Mt. Everest. Upon arrival, our Bhutan representative will pick you up and transfer to the hotel for a short rest and lunch. After the lunch, we have a program to explore around the Paro valley. During the tour visit ruined fortress of Drugyul Dzong, take a glimpse of Mount Jumolhari, Bhutan’s second-highest mountain at 7,314meters and observe the view from Dzong – watchtower which is now the National Museum of Bhutan. Your first night at a hotel in Paro with full board.

    DAY 04: Paro-Thimphu

    Today, your first site to visit is Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery where you reach with a short hike. The famous monastery of Druk Yul situates at 3180 meters. Right in the place where Taktsang Monastery stands is said to be the place used by Guru rinpoche to meditate as he came flying on the back of a tigress. A beautiful cafeteria restaurant located at the halfway up the mountain, serves your Lunch. Approximately, above the Paro Valley, the monastery is nested on the edge of a steep cliff. After exploration of monastery, trace your trail down to the Paro Valley and then drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan.

    DAY 05: Thimphu-Wangduephodrang

    Memorial Chorten of late King Jigme Dorji Wangchu, traditional indigenous hospital, national library and the traditional painting school are the highlights for today.

    In the afternoon, drive through the beautiful countryside  to Wangduephodrang across the Dochula Pass which is a good chance to get spectacular views of the Himalayas in clear days. Driving downhill through the forests of rhododendron, fir and hemlock is an amazing experience. Stay overnight at a hotel in Wangduephodrang.

    DAY 06: Travel from Wangduephodrang-Paro

    Today’s first site is stunning Punakha Dzong, that situated in between the male and female rivers like an anchored ship. While coming back,  visit Chimi Lhakhang. Chimi Lhakhang is known as a fertility temple dedicated to Divine Madman or Lama Drukpa Kuenley. Your drive continues to Paro via DochuLa Pass. On the way visit unique new Druk Wangyal Monastery. The monastery houses elaborate paintings depicting the lineage of the present monarchy and their visionary works. Stay overnight at hotel in Paro.

    DAY 07: Paro-Kathmandu

    In the morning, you will be transferred to the Paro airport to catch your scenic flight to Kathmandu. During the flight enjoy the mesmerizing views of the massive Himalayan range such as Mt Everest, Kanchenjunga, Chomolhari, Tsrim Gang and Jichu Drake. Upon your arrival, our guide meets and greets you to transfer to the hotel. Spent your remaining time exploring the Thamel Market. Spent overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

    DAY 08: Sightseeing Tour: Patan & Bhaktapur
