Overview of Dhorpatan Hunting Trek
Dhorpatan Trek is not so much crowded and off the beaten path trail of Dhaulagiri trekking region. Dhorpatan hunting reserve Nepal is also an attractive destination, controlled hunting allowed with proper license and certain seasons in the year. Hunting permit and license is issued by the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation in Kathmandu.
This Trek offers an opportunity to discover areas, that still without being affected by western influences. Hunting reserve lies between Rukum, Myagdi and Baglung districts in Dhaulagiri range in Western Nepal, established in 1983 covers 1325 sq km.
Dhorpatan reserve is the only one spot in Nepal where licensed hunting is permitted, it is characterizing by alpine, sub-alpine and high temperate vegetation. Common plant species include fir, pine, birch, rhododendron, hemlock, oak, juniper and spruce.
Reserve divided into six blocks for hunting management purposes, its elevation ranges from 2,850m to more than 7,000m. It is provide excellent mountain views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range. Dhorpatan is the prime habitats of blue sheep, other game species are Ghoral, Himalayan Tahr, Black Bear Pheasant and Partridge.
If you interested for wild life hunting, we organize hunting package it takes another 4-5 days extra. For Dhorpatan trek it is not necessary any hiking and trekking experience, normal walking experience is enough for Dhorpatan trek. Best season for this are February to May and August to November. we organize this trip according to your desire and duration of holidays.
